Ed Sheeran grabs another week at No. 1 on Australia’s singles chart with “Perfect” (Atlantic/Warner) as the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman (Atlantic/Warner) rises to the zenith of the national albums survey. The triple-platinum “Perfect” enters a fifth straight week atop the ARIA Singles Chart and collects another Streaming Singles crown. The track was one of four Sheeran songs to crack the top 10 in ARIA’s recently-published year-end singles tally and it's lifted from the English singer’s Divide, the best-selling album of 2017 in Australia. Also on the singles chart this week, Camila Cabello’s “Havana” (Epic/Sony) featuring Young Thug holds at No. 2, Eminem’s “River” (Interscope/Universal) featuring Sheeran is unchanged at No. 3, Post Malone’s“I Fall Apart” (Universal) improves 5-4 and Marshmellox Khalid’s“Silence” (RCA/Sony) gains 7-5. The highest-ranked homegrown track on the current survey comes from Pnau, whose track “Go Bang” (Universal) improves 19-13, as a pair of new entries impact the top 50: Keala Settle and The Greatest Showman Ensemble's “This Is Me” (it’s at No. 34 via Atlantic/Warner), from the week’s best-selling album, and Camelphat & Elderbrook’s club tune “Cola” (ADA/Warner) at No. 48. Meanwhile, The Greatest Showman leads a top five comprised of albums which have all logged time at the summit: Sheeran’s Divide (Warner),Pink’s Beautiful Trauma (RCA/Sony), Eminem's Revival (Interscope/Universal) and Taylor Swift’sReputation (Big Machine/Universal), respectively.
Kit Harington led a mini-Game of Thrones reunion as he hosted comedy show Saturday Night Live at the weekend (06Apr19), with Emilia Clarke, John Bradley, and Rose Leslie joining him. The actor opened the show by taking questions from the studio audience, with Emilia standing up and asking him how their show ends. Kit, who plays Jon Snow on the fantasy series, reminded his castmate she is part of the show and should remember, prompting Clarke to quip, "I forgot. It's been so d**n long since the last season, plus a lot of my scenes are talking to a dragon, which is just a tennis ball on a green pole, so I have no idea what's actually happening." When her co-star refused to give up any information, she chuckled, "Do you remember in season six when we had sex? Did you know they filmed that?" The next question came from another co-star, Bradley, who wanted to know the fate of his character Samwell Tarly in the final Game of Thrones season, adding, "They only let me see two pages of the script and all my character says is 'Argh'!" When Kit asked what came before that in the script, Bradley said, "Dragon opens mouth". The final surprise came as Kit's real-life wife Rose Leslie asked him how they were going to make ends meet now his run on Game of Thrones is over. "What are we gonna do for money now?" she asked. "We didn't save anything and you kept telling me, 'I'm the king of the north, we can order (delivery service) UberEats every night!'" Her husband responded, "Honey, don't worry we'll be OK. I'll make my jewellery..." Relieved Leslie then asked the newly-clean-shaven star, "How soon can you grow back that beard?" Her man's beloved character was known for his facial hair. Later in the show, Kit appeared in a skit about crossover Game of Thrones shows, which included Game of Thrones: Special Victims Unit, featuring Law & Order: SVU stars Mariska Hargitay and Ice T dressed up as characters from the fantasy series trying to solve a crime. Kit also played a quirky burlesque dancer, performing at his fiancee's bachelorette party, in one funny skit. Dressed in a sexy corset and calling himself Eva Braun - Adolf Hitler's wife - he started slowly undressing before his stunned wife-to-be, played by SNL regular Cecily Strong and her friends, using lines like, "I'm so naughty. See my leg it's covered in hair!" and, "Naughty girls, looky looky and you might see my cookie cookie'." He ended the scene by showing off his toned body, wearing nothing but nipple tassles, boxer briefs and heels. The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones debuts next week (14Apr19).
Rapper Offset surprised his wife Cardi B with a bundle of designer gifts on Monday (23Jul18), three days after he was arrested near Atlanta, Georgia. The Migos star was taken into custody and booked for counts of improper lane change, marijuana possession, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, spent the night behind bars before he was released on $17,000 bail on Saturday, and it seems he made an extra effort to make it up to new mum Cardi as she showed off bags from Dior, Louis Vuitton, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Godiva chocolatier, among other retailers, on her Instagram Story timeline on Monday. "I woke up to some gifts from my baby daddy," she whispered in the video post. "Thank you love, I love you." "Thank you sweetheart," she added in the caption. The presents were delivered a day after Cardi revealed she was having a tough time with their daughter Kulture on Sunday. "My child been very very spicy today (sic)," she wrote online. "Its cool thoo i can handle it (sic)". Little Kulture, who was born on 10 July (18), is the Bodak Yellow hitmaker's first child, and Offset's fourth. Meanwhile, Offset's attorney, Drew Findling, has been fighting back against the criminal charges, claiming his client was a victim of racial profiling. He alleges police officers used the traffic violation as a thinly-veiled excuse to target Offset, and insists the firearms found in his car belong to a passenger, an assistant who is a licensed gun holder, reports TMZ.com. The lawyer also asserts no field sobriety test was performed by the cops and the absence of this screening proves the rapper was not impaired at the time of the stop. However, law enforcement sources tell the outlet Offset had actually been weaving in and out of traffic prior to his arrest, apparently posing a more serious safety risk to other drivers.
