The Spice Girls have reportedly been offered a Las Vegas residency. The group, consisting of Mel B, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel C, are reuniting for a U.K. comeback tour without their fifth member - Victoria Beckham - this June (19). And while talks about taking the tour Stateside have been rumoured for some time, it's now been claimed that the four-piece group are considering following in the footsteps of stars such as Celine Dion and Britney Spears by taking on a residency in Sin City. According to Britain's The Sun newspaper, the group have been offered a big money deal at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace. "The girls haven't committed to a full U.S. tour, but their production team think a residency could be the perfect fit," a source told the publication. "There is massive money on the table depending on how their UK tour goes. When Celine Dion leaves The Colosseum next June the owners are planning a refurb and want a flagship act to get punters back when it reopens." While Geri, Mel C and Emma are all based in the U.K., Mel B lives in Los Angeles - meaning a residency would be the "perfect fit" for her. And her bandmates are also said to be keen on the idea because it requires less of a commitment than a full U.S. tour. Reports are continuing to swirl about animosity between Mel B and Geri following the former's revelation that she had sex with Ginger Spice in the Spice Girls' heyday. While Geri, Emma and Mel C have been rehearsing for the upcoming tour in London, Mel B has been practising on her own in Los Angeles - fuelling rumours of a falling out.

Mariah Carey, M.I.A. and Mindy Kaling are among the stars to send prayers to the people of Sri Lanka after a series of co-ordinated explosions killed more than 200 on Easter Sunday (21Apr19). Officials estimate at least 207 people died in the bombings of four hotels and three churches, where holiday services were being held, in and around the capital of Colombo and in the city of Batticaloa, where 450 others were injured. The news prompted a string of celebrities to take to social media to express their shock and sadness at the headlines. "Sri Lanka, my heart is with you. I'm praying for everyone affected by this horrible tragedy. Stay strong," tweeted Mariah Carey, as rapper M.I.A., whose parents hail from the South Asian nation. Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds shared, "heartbroken for the people of Sri Lanka. there are no words that could possibly bring comfort or understanding at times like these - I can only offer my deepest sorrow and love along with the millions of others mourning today." Ciara tweeted, "Praying for you Sri Lanka. My heart is crushed," and Kelly Rowland took to Instagram to write, "On this Resurrection Sunday, I'd like to take the time to simply send love and prayers to Sri Lanka...! Today, please take the time and say a prayer for Sri Lanka! Praying for my brothers and sisters through Christ!" Meanwhile, actress Mindy Kaling, whose family is of Indian heritage, shared a link to a Washington Post article about the tragedy, and urged fans to "think about including these people in your prayers" on Easter Sunday. "I'm Hindu, but Easter is one of the most moving and beautiful holidays," she posted. "I do believe in the power of prayer, even from strangers half the world away." There were also tributes from world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump and former leader Barack Obama, as well as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Thor star Chris Hemsworth has thrown his hat in the ring to become the second Australian James Bond. The Avengers star admits there was buzz about him playing 007 several years ago, when he was filming racing car drama Rush, in which he played British playboy driver James Hunt, but nothing came of the chatter. Now, as fans await news of who will replace Daniel Craig as the suave superspy following the Brit's final outing as Bond, Hemsworth admits he'd love to be considered. ''When we were shooting Rush... I thought, 'Cool, if this is my audition tape, then great'," Chris tells Balance magazine. "I don't think you'll ever meet anyone who doesn't want to have a crack at James Bond. I'd love to do it. "But that's up to so many elements and is way beyond myself; it's not one you can pitch yourself on to either. It's something that the community of Bond fans, (producer) Barbara Broccoli and the whole crew there agree on, and it has to be a very organic decision from them. There have been a lot of names thrown out there and a lot of brilliant people can tackle that one." The favorite appears to be Idris Elba, with Bond star Ralph Fiennes and his predecessor, Dame Judi Dench, both keen to see the first black 007, but there has also been buzz around Sam Heughan, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy, and James Norton. If Hemsworth lands the role, he'll become the second Aussie to play 007, behind George Lazenby, who portrayed James Bond in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Ironically, Lazenby favours Hemsworth's Thor co-star Elba as the next Bond - he previously told the Press Association a black Bond would be a good idea. "I mean, why not?" he said. "But then on the other hand, you’re going to have a lot of people scratching their head going, ‘James Bond wasn’t black'. Idris would be a good idea."

Kit Harington led a mini-Game of Thrones reunion as he hosted comedy show Saturday Night Live at the weekend (06Apr19), with Emilia Clarke, John Bradley, and Rose Leslie joining him. The actor opened the show by taking questions from the studio audience, with Emilia standing up and asking him how their show ends. Kit, who plays Jon Snow on the fantasy series, reminded his castmate she is part of the show and should remember, prompting Clarke to quip, "I forgot. It's been so d**n long since the last season, plus a lot of my scenes are talking to a dragon, which is just a tennis ball on a green pole, so I have no idea what's actually happening." When her co-star refused to give up any information, she chuckled, "Do you remember in season six when we had sex? Did you know they filmed that?" The next question came from another co-star, Bradley, who wanted to know the fate of his character Samwell Tarly in the final Game of Thrones season, adding, "They only let me see two pages of the script and all my character says is 'Argh'!" When Kit asked what came before that in the script, Bradley said, "Dragon opens mouth". The final surprise came as Kit's real-life wife Rose Leslie asked him how they were going to make ends meet now his run on Game of Thrones is over. "What are we gonna do for money now?" she asked. "We didn't save anything and you kept telling me, 'I'm the king of the north, we can order (delivery service) UberEats every night!'" Her husband responded, "Honey, don't worry we'll be OK. I'll make my jewellery..." Relieved Leslie then asked the newly-clean-shaven star, "How soon can you grow back that beard?" Her man's beloved character was known for his facial hair. Later in the show, Kit appeared in a skit about crossover Game of Thrones shows, which included Game of Thrones: Special Victims Unit, featuring Law & Order: SVU stars Mariska Hargitay and Ice T dressed up as characters from the fantasy series trying to solve a crime. Kit also played a quirky burlesque dancer, performing at his fiancee's bachelorette party, in one funny skit. Dressed in a sexy corset and calling himself Eva Braun - Adolf Hitler's wife - he started slowly undressing before his stunned wife-to-be, played by SNL regular Cecily Strong and her friends, using lines like, "I'm so naughty. See my leg it's covered in hair!" and, "Naughty girls, looky looky and you might see my cookie cookie'." He ended the scene by showing off his toned body, wearing nothing but nipple tassles, boxer briefs and heels. The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones debuts next week (14Apr19).
