Singer Demi Lovato is "awake" and surrounded by family members after suffering an alleged drug overdose. The pop star was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital close to midday on Tuesday (24Jul18), with police and fire department officials confirming they had responded to an emergency call placed from the 8000 block of Laurel View Drive, the street in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood where Demi's home is located. Reports suggest the singer, who was sober for six years before falling off the wagon, had overdosed on heroin, but the 25-year-old's representative has released a statement claiming some of the information about the incident is false. “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support," the star's spokesperson said in a statement. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now." The star revealed to fans she recently relapsed in the lyrics of her new song, Sober, in June (18), apologising for letting her family and fans down. "To the ones who never left me/We’ve been down this road before/I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore,” she sings on the heartbreaking track. Demi was transported to a Los Angeles hospital, where she was treated with Narcan - an emergency treatment for opioid narcotic overdoses - according to Entertainment Tonight. She first sought rehabilitation treatment for her substance abuse and self-harm issues in 2011. A concert scheduled for Atlantic City, New Jersey on Thursday (26Jul18) has been canceled following her hospitalization.

Rapper Offset surprised his wife Cardi B with a bundle of designer gifts on Monday (23Jul18), three days after he was arrested near Atlanta, Georgia. The Migos star was taken into custody and booked for counts of improper lane change, marijuana possession, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus, spent the night behind bars before he was released on $17,000 bail on Saturday, and it seems he made an extra effort to make it up to new mum Cardi as she showed off bags from Dior, Louis Vuitton, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Godiva chocolatier, among other retailers, on her Instagram Story timeline on Monday. "I woke up to some gifts from my baby daddy," she whispered in the video post. "Thank you love, I love you." "Thank you sweetheart," she added in the caption. The presents were delivered a day after Cardi revealed she was having a tough time with their daughter Kulture on Sunday. "My child been very very spicy today (sic)," she wrote online. "Its cool thoo i can handle it (sic)". Little Kulture, who was born on 10 July (18), is the Bodak Yellow hitmaker's first child, and Offset's fourth. Meanwhile, Offset's attorney, Drew Findling, has been fighting back against the criminal charges, claiming his client was a victim of racial profiling. He alleges police officers used the traffic violation as a thinly-veiled excuse to target Offset, and insists the firearms found in his car belong to a passenger, an assistant who is a licensed gun holder, reports TMZ.com. The lawyer also asserts no field sobriety test was performed by the cops and the absence of this screening proves the rapper was not impaired at the time of the stop. However, law enforcement sources tell the outlet Offset had actually been weaving in and out of traffic prior to his arrest, apparently posing a more serious safety risk to other drivers.
Singer Shawn Mendes has vowed to make his proposed collaboration with BTS a reality, even though the South Korean boyband has been too busy to schedule studio time together. The There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back hitmaker met BTS at last year's (17) American Music Awards, where they discussed ideas for a joint project in a chat recorded for the K-pop stars' official YouTube channel. The two acts have continued to tease fans about the idea ever since, but the new material has yet to come to fruition. Now Shawn has addressed the hold up, admitting it's been tough to squeeze the track into their hectic schedules. "Latest on the collaboration, they're a hard group to get with," Mendes told The Roz and Mocha Show in his native Toronto, Canada. "They're busy people. I have no lyrics on their collaboration yet." However, Shawn isn't refusing to give up hope, because he's been a big fan of their work for a while. "It'll happen. Promise," he said. "I can't give you a date because we haven't hung out and wrote a song yet, but it will happen. 'Cause I love them and... their fans too. So, I promise." It's no surprise Shawn and the BTS members haven't had time to get together so far this year - Mendes' self-titled album topped the U.S. Billboard 200 earlier this month (Jun18), making the 19-year-old the third-youngest artist to earn three number one albums, behind fellow Canadian Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. Meanwhile, BTS recently made U.S. chart history too, after their Love Yourself: Tear release became the first-ever Korean album to lead the Billboard 200.
Christina Aguilera became tearful in a video she shared to thank her fans for their unwavering support. The 37-year-old released her eighth studio album, Liberation, on Friday (15Jun18), and the star posted the video to Twitter with the caption: "Fighters this goes for you too...." Aguilera is seen celebrating while in a restaurant, and decided to dedicate her emotional speech to her loyal fans. "This business is so cutthroat and it's so hard. I feel like I'm gonna cry. When I feel protected, I'm at my best and I just adore the people that are truly loyal to me. And I just love you guys so much," Aguilera said as she became visibly emotional.
